Allow microphone access

If recording is blocked, check your browser and device settings.

Browser

  1. Open the browser's extension details or site settings for Speak Email.
  2. Set Microphone to Allow if the browser shows that option.
  3. If it says Ask but no prompt appears, check the operating system settings below.

macOS

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security, then Microphone.
  3. Turn on microphone access for your browser, such as Arc or Chrome.
  4. Quit and reopen the browser.
  5. Open the Speak Email extension and try recording again.

Windows

  1. Open Windows Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & security, then Microphone.
  3. Turn on Microphone access.
  4. Turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
  5. Restart your browser, then try the Speak Email extension again.

Still blocked?

Fully quit and reopen the browser after changing microphone permissions. If you are using Arc, check Arc in macOS Microphone settings, not only Chrome.
